This is my avatar on Second Life. The reason i made it a wolf was because I think wolves are cool. It has wood elf clothing because the original avatar was one. Iam trying to think of creative ways to make it cooler. If anyone has any suggestions I am willing to read them.

Exercise two, page 324

When it comes to trusting a news source, I prefer a few things to apply to the source. First I want the news source to have a reliable source of information. Second, it is better if the information is also picked up at other sources of news. Lastly, the news source has to keep my attention in order to transmit the news. That is what I consider to be the standards of news.

Dear Aunt,
There is nothing called MyFace. There are two sites that let you post on the internet things about you, and they are MySpace and Facebook. I advise you to make an account on Facebook. The information there is more private than on MySpace. You could post all the things about the hundreds of cats online so we don't have to listen to them at home.

Sincerely,
your nephew

Television is a surprisingly controversial topic when you think about it. There are the channels and shows that supply educational material like PBS. There are also channels that supply bring mind-numbing experiences like Cartoon Network. I believe people worry about the latter of the two. It is quite possibly turning our brains to mush. When talked about like that it makes sense.

k.d. lang

When I read what was controversial about this post, I was amazed that this issue was in first place. They were complaining about her use of punctuation on her name. This strikes me as extremely idiotic. I personally don't care whether she uses capitals or not. Why do we complain about this when we spell iPhone or iTunes the way we do?

I believe that we need more structure and organization for our class project. Without organization we cannot hope to finish our project in time. Also, this would also help people who don't know what the project is to find out about it. I am among those people. I would like to know what the project is so I can work on it!

Political social networking

I have come to a new realization. The political candidates are using MySpace and Facebook pages to help their political campaign. That is a very effective method of reaching people in today's society. Obama seems to have the most fans on Facebook. McCain doesn't even have half as many.

Advertisements

I have found that their is an almost unlimited supply of advertisements wherever I go. There are an endless supply of them on the internet and on television. I even see numerous advertisements passing by at the bus stop. I have come to the conclusion that I will never escape them.

However, that is not to say that some of them aren't creative. There have been commercials that have integrated themselves into TV shows (like Degree Men: Absolute Protection and Eureka). I have also seen ones that are quite bizarre. For this example there is Sprite and its "sublymonal advertising. The commercials may be inescapable, but at least they are entertaining.

Political blogs

I think I am most likely to go back to americablog.com because it reveals information on the republican campaign coverage. I had no idea that McCain and Palin were insisting to have reporters come with them and directly refuse them to ask questions. That almost defies the purpose of them being there. The website also agrees with my concepts of the republican party.

cultural interactions

Wore a Harry Potter shirt and Levi's jeans to College.
Got notes from Muslim note taker for calculus.
Bought pizza and Coca-cola for lunch.
Listened to Linkin Park while doing homework.
Ate tacos for dinner.
Listened to CDs while going to bed.

I learned I interact with popular culture more often than I thought. I have several t-shirts from museums in my closet in addition to ones referencing movies. I also eat multiple foreign meals a day. I even listen to music almost regularly at home. I never realized all of that was popular culture.

Weird Parents

So my parents explained college to me last Sunday. I overreacted and asked dad to kill me. Instead, my dad comes in and starts pretending to stab me with a banana. I wasn't still out of my mood yet, so Dad explained it to Mom. The best Mom did was continue to sit on the couch (reclined) watching TV and reading on her laptop, and call out pathetically "Don't die." This struck me as so insincere and lazy, that I cracked up laughing. My parents are so weird.

stressed out

I am so stressed about college. I lost a sheet for my FYS on the first day.
