Exercise two, page 324

When it comes to trusting a news source, I prefer a few things to apply to the source. First I want the news source to have a reliable source of information. Second, it is better if the information is also picked up at other sources of news. Lastly, the news source has to keep my attention in order to transmit the news. That is what I consider to be the standards of news.

Dear Aunt,
There is nothing called MyFace. There are two sites that let you post on the internet things about you, and they are MySpace and Facebook. I advise you to make an account on Facebook. The information there is more private than on MySpace. You could post all the things about the hundreds of cats online so we don't have to listen to them at home.

Television is a surprisingly controversial topic when you think about it. There are the channels and shows that supply educational material like PBS. There are also channels that supply bring mind-numbing experiences like Cartoon Network. I believe people worry about the latter of the two. It is quite possibly turning our brains to mush. When talked about like that it makes sense.

k.d. lang

When I read what was controversial about this post, I was amazed that this issue was in first place. They were complaining about her use of punctuation on her name. This strikes me as extremely idiotic. I personally don't care whether she uses capitals or not. Why do we complain about this when we spell iPhone or iTunes the way we do?
