Advertisements

I have found that their is an almost unlimited supply of advertisements wherever I go. There are an endless supply of them on the internet and on television. I even see numerous advertisements passing by at the bus stop. I have come to the conclusion that I will never escape them.

However, that is not to say that some of them aren't creative. There have been commercials that have integrated themselves into TV shows (like Degree Men: Absolute Protection and Eureka). I have also seen ones that are quite bizarre. For this example there is Sprite and its "sublymonal advertising. The commercials may be inescapable, but at least they are entertaining.

Political blogs

I think I am most likely to go back to americablog.com because it reveals information on the republican campaign coverage. I had no idea that McCain and Palin were insisting to have reporters come with them and directly refuse them to ask questions. That almost defies the purpose of them being there. The website also agrees with my concepts of the republican party.

cultural interactions

Wore a Harry Potter shirt and Levi's jeans to College.
Got notes from Muslim note taker for calculus.
Bought pizza and Coca-cola for lunch.
Listened to Linkin Park while doing homework.
Ate tacos for dinner.
Listened to CDs while going to bed.

I learned I interact with popular culture more often than I thought. I have several t-shirts from museums in my closet in addition to ones referencing movies. I also eat multiple foreign meals a day. I even listen to music almost regularly at home. I never realized all of that was popular culture.

Weird Parents

So my parents explained college to me last Sunday. I overreacted and asked dad to kill me. Instead, my dad comes in and starts pretending to stab me with a banana. I wasn't still out of my mood yet, so Dad explained it to Mom. The best Mom did was continue to sit on the couch (reclined) watching TV and reading on her laptop, and call out pathetically "Don't die." This struck me as so insincere and lazy, that I cracked up laughing. My parents are so weird.

stressed out

I am so stressed about college. I lost a sheet for my FYS on the first day.
